NANOROS is a project granted by the Italian Space Agency (ASI, http://www.asi.it) and coordinated by the Smart Bio-Interfaces group of the Italian Institute of Technology (IIT, https://www.iit.it/research/lines/smart-bio-interfaces). Partners of the project are the Biorobotics Institute of the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna (http://www.sssup.it) and Kayser Italia S.r.L. (http://www.kayser.it).
The project aims at the evaluation of the antioxidant effects of cerium oxide nanoparticles on a model of differentiated muscle cells in microgravity conditions, on the International Space Station.
The project started on August 1st, 2016 and will last 30 months. The space mission is scheduled for next August 1st, 2017.
